What is a smicer ?

At smice, mystery shoppers are called smicers. Who are they ?

Written by Marion

A smicer is a consumer who tests the quality of service provided by retailers, helping them to improve.

Their role is to go incognito to a point of sale and be served like any other customer. He or she takes advantage of the service offered, observes what's going on around him or her, and then answers a questionnaire to evaluate the experience.

These observations are then transmitted to the brand for analysis. They will be used as a reference to check that quality standards are being properly applied, and to suggest concrete areas for improvement in line with reality on the ground.

Smicer is above all a hobby

The smicer plays the triple role of actor, detective and expert in the consumer experience. Like a little mouse, he sees and hears everything.

He follows a precise scenario, observes the details, and takes advantage of being able to live new experiences (eating out, sleeping in a hotel, getting information in a store or travel agency, spending a weekend in an amusement park...) while being compensated.

It's not a job, it's a win-win situation. It's a simple relationship of trust that is established between smice and its smicers (with no subordination).

In short, smicer is an opportunity for smicers to take advantage of a good deal and, in return, to share their experiences.
